At FPSR Cosmetics, our goal is to provide you with the best skin health care that you can find. Because we are part of the family practice, feel rest assured that you are in capable and trusting hands under a physician’s direction. Our Master Aesthetician will help guide you through the confusing world of chemical peels, facial treatments, skincare products, and make-up. Let us show you how easy and affordable great, healthy skin can be. You don’t have to spend thousands on surgery to achieve beautiful results.
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel penetrates the top layers of the epidermis, therefore stimulating new collagen and elastin to the skin. The term “chemical peel” can be very confusing and possibly scary. It is simply a term used to describe a blend of acids that help gently exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Our master aesthetician will determine which peel is best for you and your skin. Consultations are always complimentary. Have you ever wondered why Hollywood stars always have a glow to their skin? They most likely just had a clinical skincare treatment. When performed in a series, the results can be dramatic!
What does a chemical peel feel like during a treatment?
While some peels penetrate the skin more deeply than others and can be considered a little “spicy”, most peels have a very mild sensation that is tolerated well. Below is a video by PCA Skin experts that describes patients’ experiences with successful chemical peels.
What should I expect following a peel?
Most exfoliation is done in the treatment room. Some peels can produce mild flaking to heavy peeling, depending on the type of peel used on the skin. A large percentage of the peels we use will only produce mild “eraser dust” flaking to no flaking at all. Your skin will feel smoother, look brighter, and feel refreshed. Very rarely will you see any irritation to your skin. Any side effects will be discussed before treatment.
How many chemical peels will I need to see a result?
Because each person has different skincare goals, our master aesthetician will discuss your personalized treatment plan with you prior to our treatment. Most commonly, a series of 4 to 6 peel will produce measurable results. Regular maintenance of one peel every 6 to 8 weeks is ideal following a series of treatments. What is a facial?
A facial is a therapeutic and relaxing treatment that cares for the health of your skin. Perfect for a first time consultation with your aesthetician so that a proper skin care regimen can be put into place for you. A facial treatment will cleanse, exfoliate and nourish the skin, promoting a well-hydrated and balanced complexion.
What is the difference between a chemical peel and a facial?
While both treatments are beneficial to the skin, a chemical peel provides a deeper, more thorough exfoliation while helping to promote cellular synthesis. A facial is considered to be a relaxing treatment with a “spa touch”. Another way to describe the difference is to compare a Swedish Massage to a Deep Tissue Massage. Both treatments are very beneficial, however each has it’s own unique result.
What is the cost for a facial?
Be prepared to be pampered and relaxed during a “hands-on” 60 minute facial treatment including the use of hot stones for a shoulder massage, scalp massage, steam with exfoliation and a masque application for only $90.
